Running categories (male and female): 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Walking category (open): 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Minimum age is 16 on event day. No forms of wheeled conveyance permitted in any event. No headphones/earbuds with music playing. No pets during your participation.
Race Starts: 3:30pm
Max completion time: 5 hours (by 8:30pm).
Cut off times: Participants need to have reached the 10km marker by XXX to meet this cut off.
Finish line closes at 6:30pm
Note: all participants who are still out on the course when the event prize-giving commences (7pm), will still be eligible for spot prizes provided they finish within the allotted time.

Get ready to lace up for the Sun to Surf Half Marathon, kicking off at Bob Byrne Park—right across from New Zealand’s beachy paradise, Port Ōhope Wharf! Runners and walkers will cruise along a stunning path to the fabulous Westend Ōhope Beach, where you can catch locals shredding waves and soaking up the sun. After soaking in the sights, you’ll meander back to the wharf, where the post-race party is in full swing! Join the fun at the event village with live tunes, scrumptious food and drink stalls, and prize-giving
The Half Marathon course is like a runner’s buffet, serving up about 60% good ol’ road with a side of scenic grass and sandy patches for that extra dash of nature’s charm!
The Sun to Surf Half Marathon Run & Walk is your golden ticket to crush those personal records while soaking in stunning views! And after you’ve rocked those miles, it’s time to kick back and relax by the beach/wharf like the champion you are!
